Well, hello there!
Hi everyone and welcome to The Life Photographic. This is a project I've been thinking about for several years, and I'm really excited to get it out to you.
What can you expect? Bi-weekly to monthly emails with some discussion about photography, photographers, and the creative process. We'll also have links to articles, books, and projects around the photography community. Have a project or come across an article you want me to share? Send it over! I'd like for this newsletter to be a community project where we all contribute bits and bobs to share.
Thanks so much for being here. Here's a few things that have caught my eye recently:
The vibrant work of Andrew Blauschild (via Surfer's Journal)
Since watching Grainy Days convert a Polaroid 110 into a 4x5, I'm scouring eBay for a project camera of my own.
A few months ago I had no idea who Lee Miller was, now I've read the biography penned by her son, and am looking forward to the movie about her coming out later this month.
If you didn't know better, you might mistake these wave photos for paintings.
Feeling really inspired by this behind the scenes footage of Gwendolyn Christie's cover shoot for Vogue Czechoslovakia. Check out the finished shots on Szilveszter Makó's Instagram. I hope it inspires you to play and get creative in your own work.
That's it for the inaugural newsletter. I'll be back in couple weeks with more. If you liked what you see here, share it with your friends! And if you see something interesting, please send it my way!
